Pathogens in the Redwood Forest in California

Our forests are being attacked again, not by the Eco-Terrorists group this time, but by a biological pathogen which now threatens some of the old growth Redwood trees. This is a real problem in the CA Redwood Forests with viruses and diseases right now, which threaten as they have been known to cross species of trees and threaten to destroy old forest growth. These issues are not going away; Even the liberals are addressing these scientific issues and discussing killing part of the forest to save the rest, you may wish to become more informed on these issues;

The debate is un-debatable and something must be done and they are working frantically on ways to fix this. These days we have much more data than before and we are seeing and learning things that we could not previously know;

This problem affects Oak, Maple, Pine and Redwood trees, and we are afraid it can possibly effect many more species too. So the real terrorists are the ones we cannot see who hide in darkness of the forest. Many scientists are looking into what can be done to prevent the further spread of this disease. Some of these Redwood trees are many hundreds of years old and if this pathogen continues to jump species and spread it could jeopardize all the forests on the west coast.
